What is Sustainable Aviation Fuel?
Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) is a “drop-in” fuel that meets all the same technical and safety requirements as fossil-based jet fuel. SAF contains the same hydrocarbons (and thus the same tailpipe emissions) as fossil-based kerosene, but the difference is that the hydrocarbons came from a more sustainable source. This results in a net reduction of emissions when comparing to fossil jet fuel on a life cycle basis.
Where can I find Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF)?
As the initial roll out of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) continues across business aviation destinations, it can be difficult to understand which airports and FBOs are offering SAF for purchase. 4AIR has created this interactive map to help find locations with SAF supply near you. Today the map only includes destinations with physical SAF supply. The map will be continuously updated as new locations are verified or new announcements are made.
For any particular location, you can click on the location title to be taken to that FBO’s website for more information. 4AIR works to verify physical supply at each of these locations. Underneath each image, the term “Verified” means this location’s supply was verified by the 4AIR team or “Announced” means this location has announced it has supply, but the supply has not been verified by 4AIR.
Supply may be limited and we advise calling ahead prior to visiting in order to ensure availability. Locations with a star (*) require a call in advance to give notice and reserve supply for an uplift.

How much does Sustainable Aviation Fuel reduce emissions?
Several factors go into determining how much CO2 is reduced through the use of SAF. Importantly, the tailpipe emissions are the same, so the same amount of CO2 is released during the combustion of the fuel. However, looking at the production process and feedstock used, less net new CO2 is added to the atmosphere; critically, SAF feedstocks used CO2 from the biosphere, rather than digging it out of the ground.

Can’t find SAF near you? We can help.
Not only can 4AIR help you find opportunities for physical uplift of SAF, but we can also assist with SAF supply via a Book & Claim transaction. We facilitate the physical uplift of SAF with other business aviation operators while documenting and transferring legal ownership of the scope 1 (direct) environment credit for the fuel to you.
We maintain all the required documentation and can use Book & Claim to meet your ESG or compliance needs in the most sustainable and cost-effective way. Book & Claim allows SAF to be put into airports nearest its points of production, reducing the environmental impact of transportation. This can also mean sourcing SAF for less expensive than physical uplift options. If you are able to uplift physical SAF on occasion, Book & Claim can bridge the gap between what you can find available for physical uplift and your larger environmental goals.
4AIR makes incorporating SAF into your sustainability strategy as easy as possible. In addition to Book & Claim, we can assist with the proper documentation of your SAF usage. We compile all the necessary documentation for both your physical and virtual SAF purchases and aggregate it into a convenient monthly report for your ESG or regular reporting needs.
